I gazed up at the dome, trying to take in all the details, until my neck hurt - twice - and still I didn't see all that I wanted to see.June Butlerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01723016934182800437noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2343439372519556254.post-72051516196020116102009-12-27T09:39:01.735-05:002009-12-27T09:39:01.735-05:00I remember doing that very same stroll, and watchi...I remember doing that very same stroll, and watching as St. Peter's got bigger and bigger the closer I came. None can since, aside from people, there is nothing to judge the scale. I remember crossing the Tiber (literally) and walking past the Castel Sant'Angelo and up the via della Conciliazione, the facade keeps getting bigger and bigger and yet you still seem so far away, even from across the piazza.Ueber-Ghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03041354309320717456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2343439372519556254.post-51149025385207197982009-12-27T07:06:36.065-05:002009-12-27T07:06:36.065-05:00I agree. I actually enjoy his nave, especially the eccentric side aisles with their oval domes.Counterlighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14345956180434795401noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2343439372519556254.post-84678392518044515202009-12-26T23:53:41.611-05:002009-12-26T23:53:41.611-05:00Wonderful post, Counterlight.
