So small consolation, I know, but it wasnt even the larger part of the electorate that chose Trump. It looks like the final tally will be 48% for Hillary, 47% for Trump.<br /><br />Trump even tweeted in 2012 that the electoral college was a "disaster" for a democracy when it looked like Obama might lose the popular vote but win the electoral.<br /><br />So even without getting into the 2000 Florida recount issues, we've had 2 Democrats in he last 16 years win the popular vote but lose the electoral vote that counts.
