I'm fascinated by the illegal alien factoid (you'd think that would have made him cannon fodder, not kept him out of the draft? Although perhaps he was too old for WW2).

It seems like "Woman I" was Mommy Dearest (or the Uber Devouring-Mother of his nightmares---if there's a difference!). I sometimes think it's tragic that men w/ such massive Female Complexes are straight . . . but then again, you probably wouldn't want them in your tribe, Doug, either! ;-/

I can't say I really like his work...but I am fascinated by a good deal of it. Thanks again!JCFnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2343439372519556254.post-19998083197570900172012-01-08T07:31:37.949-05:002012-01-08T07:31:37.949-05:00I think De Kooning had Picasso's woman problem...I think De Kooning had Picasso's woman problem.Counterlighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14345956180434795401noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2343439372519556254.post-16693002148328248332012-01-06T22:07:01.211-05:002012-01-06T22:07:01.211-05:00Fine post, Doug.
