For Grandmere Mimi

A still life of flowers by Rachel Ruysch for her to gaze upon with what I hope will be new and improved eyes after the cataract surgery is over. Like all Dutch flower paintings, this one is full of little discoveries that you can see if you click on the image for a larger picture.

I hope all is well.

  1. Doug, thank you. This is gorgeous! And everyone do click to get the enlarged view. All sorts of lovely details can't be seen from the smaller details.

When I cover the eye with the new lens, and look with the other eye, the colors are muted and seem to be covered with a slight brownish-yellowish haze, which changes the entire appearance of the painting. What a wonderful test for the success of my new vision.

  2. That would be "All sorts of lovely details can't be seen from the smaller picture".
