Happy Birthday, Dear Doug. Did you have candles on your Birthday Tree, or just regular lights?
Did you as a child, ever resent the fact that your birthday falls on the commemoration of our Lord's birth? Just wondering. I've never before known anyone who has this as their natal day!
I share this birthday with a lot of people besides What's His Name. Cissy Spacek, Quentin Crisp, and Isaac Newton were all born on Christmas Day.
The part that was hardest for me was having to share a birthday party with my brother (February 10), if I had one at all.
Last night was great. I had Dublin 6's famous sticky toffee pudding with a candle in it. Yum! I then did the incense at Midnight Mass. Once again, I had the visitors coughing and gagging in the aisles. If I can still see the celebrant 2 feet away, then it's not enough smoke.

Belated Happy Birthday, Doug. Thanks so much for sharing the Magic Flute - a wonderful tradition.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a great birthday. You enrich our daily lives so much with your blog the whole year round. Guess it's time to say "thanks", so thanks!

Happy Belated, Doug! (My paternal grandmother, OBM, had a 12-25 Bday, too)
