In his efforts to call attention to the cause for gay rights in Moscow, he faces down the Moscow police and city government, the Russian government and military, The Russian Orthodox Church, Communist and Fascist skinheads, and the Moscow mob. He stages those marches whether they allow it or not.
In the global struggle between gays and assholes, he deserves a medal.
