... back from the land of rum, sugarcane, bananas, and tourists.
Home to cold snowy New York and the land of baseball, hotdogs, apple pie, and random gun violence (I'll say!).
I had a wonderful time. I had a great time with Michael, enjoyed the sunshine and warm weather, loved the night sky full of stars (saw the Milky Way for the first time in decades), saw dolphins, frigate birds, tropical fish, and iguanas. The tropics are beautiful, but I wouldn't want to live there. I'm glad to be home.
I suppose most people when they see frigate birds riding the trade winds think of Reggae and steel drums.
I think of this, but then, I'm strange.
I don't think you're strange. I love this music and Barenboim. The most tender of downbeats!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back!
Bienvenidos! Welcome Home/Back!
ReplyDeleteIf I might ask: where were you, in the tropics? [I take it not Rio (ala the travel poster below), if you were in the land of Reggae? Geez, "Land of Reggae": if Jamaica, glad you two are home SAFE! O_o]
It's really good to know that you're back.......a(and rested!)

We took the big boat down to the Caribbean. Our ports of call were San Juan (where we clambered all over Fort San Cristobal and toured the old city), Saint Thomas in the American Virgin Islands (iguanas everywhere looking for hand outs), Antigua (the budget end of it), Saint Marten (Dutch and French sides, we loved it), and Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, then back to NYC on the big boat.
ReplyDeleteConsidering the price of airline tickets and hotels these days, taking the big boat from New York is much cheaper. There were lots of young couples and young families on this cruise who normally wouldn't be able to do a Caribbean vacation.
I can see the correlation! His music soars! I'm glad you had a great vacation, but I'm glad you're back.
