Happy Harvey Milk Day!

Harvey Milk, a REAL hero and martyr, who didn't predict the future, he made it.

His struggle and our struggle continue, especially in this time of reaction when a corporate funded creeping coup d'etat by the far right appears to be advancing state by state.

Here's what happened in Minnesota yesterday:

Similar scenes are being played out in state houses around the country right now.

Tip of the beret to JoeMyGod for the video.

  1. But we lose by ever thinner margins.
I can remember back in good old Anita Bryant days when anything gay positive would routinely lose by overwhelming margins, even in New York and San Francisco. And liberal politicians wouldn't touch the gay issue with a 20 foot pole while wearing a hazmat suit.

There's a good chance this anti-gay marriage amendment might actually lose in November. For the first time ever, a plurality of Minnesotans, and Americans generally, favor gay marriage. I never thought I'd see that 30 years ago, or even 10 years ago. We may be losing battles, but the tide is with us.

  2. I have no faith in the "tide", every single time it is put on a ballot WE LOSE! It will not happen in my lifetime so I don't care about "eventualy" cause eventualy may NEVER happen!
