I'm Glad He's Gone

Congratulations to President Obama. I would have preferred to see him tried, but sometimes it is necessary to slay the monsters, and this man was one. No, I don't think this ends anything.

I understand the mixed feelings of serious and sincere Christians, but I cannot feign remorse when I feel none. I live in New York and saw what this man did. As far as I'm concerned, he was a monster who drank blood and ate children for breakfast. Only God loves him and God can have him.

  1. As far as I'm concerned, Bin Laden was a man that only God could love.

Jesus is almost certainly right, but mortal fallible me just cannot see another way around this.

  2. I think it may end a little of the insane verbal lunging AT President Obama (or at least slow it down to a trickle for a while). Agreed, another monster is dead.

  3. I'm feeling very reluctant to pass judgment on the celebrating crowds here in New York today. They are celebrating Bin Laden's death like they celebrated Hitler's demise, and why not? Those two men were cut from the same cloth. Dying was the best thing they ever did for the world.

I can't help but hear "what sounds like Jesus" in my head: "These are the ones that you, my followers, MOST need to love."

Theres a lot to admire about the military and law enforcement, but I've avoided both (despite my chronic unemployment my whole damn life!) precisely because I didn't want to be placed in the position of judge, jury and executioner (in a split-second) on someone's life (It goes w/o saying, I don't judge those who are in the military/law enforcement).

I know that there are Christians who, in good conscience, believe they can BOTH follow the Prince of Peace, and be prepared to pull the trigger on another Imago Dei. I just can't square this circle, however. [God only knows how I would react "in a split-second", if myself attacked. Maybe all bets would be off.]
