Comment Notice

Because of the flood of commercial spam for the Xmas season, the comment section now accepts only registered users, including open IDs, but no comments marked "anonymous."  The junk is taking up too much space.

I don't want to resort to one of those eye-test word verifications to make sure comments aren't coming from robots.

10 comments:

  1. I find that the spam mostly hits posts >2 weeks, so I set moderation on those. haven't had probelms on the current posts.

  2. I am also getting a bunch of "spam," right now. Too bad it isn't the canned type! That's easier to get rid of (For me that would be in file 13)! :-)

  3. Moderation of comments past 2 weeks old didn't work for me by itself. I had to disable anonymous comments, too.

  4. Aw, crap. Doug, you were just about my LAST "perfect blog": one where I could post on the "Name/URL" log-in setting. :-(

  5. The torrent of spam has abruptly stopped. It works. Maybe I'll go back after Xmas is over.

  6. I haven't had spam for days. It's an Advent miracle. ;-)

  10. I don't mind filling out the visual tests. It's well worth it to save you from drowning in spam.

No anonymous comments will be accepted.
If you wish to say something dissenting or unpleasant, then do so. But, you must identify yourself either with your own name or a fake name. "Anonymous" comments will be deleted without exception.

I stand by my comments. I expect you to do likewise.
