Some New Paintings

I've been busy in my studio over the past 2 months.  Here is what I've come up with so far.

These are all my photos, so the quality is not the best.

Painting Fire
This is another painting from the new series about the artist and writer David Wojnarowicz that I've been working on since 2011.  This painting is about David's mural painting in the abandoned (and now destroyed) warehouses on the West Side docks.

The Mountain
This painting remains unfinished.  I will probably go back and repaint the foreground figures and other aspects of the landscape, but I'm not quite sure yet how I will do so.

  1. Nice!

FWIW, I recently plugged your David W (can't spell!) paintings to a David W fan over at JoeMyGod.

As a lover of high mountains, naturally really like your mountain pic (just as is). The, um, "green detail" reminds me of a tipped-on-its-side mountain in the Canadian Rockies, that I saw when I was 14 (those sort of memories really leave an impression, don't they?). Let me see if I can find a pic...

    Here we go: Mount Rundle

  2. That's very striking! I've never been to Banff. This painting is based on memories of travels in the mountains of southwestern Colorado (and hikers' pictures in those mountains that I find online).

Thanks for passing on the David W. pics. I always hope to attract new fans.

  3. I love being drawn in (so to speak) to the stories you tell...somehow always clean even when the subjects are not. Thanks, Len
