Painting Strawberries.

I'm teaching painting from my kitchen this semester.  So, I did a little demonstration painting today.

This is not it.

I painted a still life of strawberries loosely based on this famous painting by Chardin.  Below are the steps I took to make it that I will share with my students.

  1. TBH I think your painting is better than Chardin. Yours suggests three-dimensionality better, and I like the background better (solid blocks of color vs mottled clouds)
