A Future Art Form?

It's an odd thing for me to say since I am so invested in painting, a historic medium, but I think gaming might emerge as a major art form.  The technology enables game creators to really create those imaginary worlds swarming with life that Leonardo da Vinci wrote about five centuries ago.  New and ever newer technology makes those worlds seem so vividly real in a way that no other medium can.   Games with multiple and indeterminate outcomes can engage viewers actively unlike any previous art form.  Games can speak to the public directly bypassing the usual gate keepers of the art world.  Gaming might also be an effective way to dodge future censorship.
