Dark Thoughts

-We Americans proclaim to all the world our belief in God, Jesus, Freedom, Fair Play, Responsibility, The Environment, Family, Opportunity, etc.

In reality, we don't really believe in anything beyond what's written on a bank statement.

-I sometimes wonder if so much of what we teach our children as "values" are really survival skills.

-The reason that we don't follow the news out of Iraq much is not that we don't care, but that we feel ashamed.

-In the end, the dirty fuckin' hippies turned out to be right all along about the Vietnam War.  They're right about the Iraq War.  They're right about the decline of the rule of law.  They're right about the environment.  They're right about the consumer society.

But who cares?  They ain't on my teevee dressed in suits tellin' me what I'm already thinkin'.
