Good googly-moogly, he must have done a lot of SciFi/Fantasy covers! [Was he bi, by chance? His fetishization of the human form, suggests Equal Opportunity oggling! ;-D]
Frazetta was famous for his sci-fi fantasy covers (for books and albums from the 1950s to the 1970s). Yes, I think he was an equal opportunity oggler, or else this gay art student would not have given him another look. In fact, the art student who introduced me to his work was gay. I also think Frazetta was into bondage fantasies, for both genders. I don't know of any evidence that he did anything beyond oggling his own sex. He was married and had a lot of awful children who fought over ownership rights to his published work long before he died.

Oh no.... I secretly collected his paperback books and examined them all.... so carefully. He is one who set my imagination free.
ReplyDeleteI owe him a great debt.
