She was a great lady, and a remarkable woman.

  3. I was so surprised to hear how old she was at her death, 92. I always thought of her as young and beautiful or mature and fascinating, but never old.

Thank God for 150 years of recording technology.

  4. She was a strong woman when it wasn't fashionable, and a great singer and entertainer. I loved her voice and who she was - she truly will be missed by so many of us.

  5. I'm please as punch to say, "I saw---and HEARD---her live!" :-D

(At Sacramento's "Music Circus", summertime theater/performance-in-the-round, c. 1979. Saw her w/ my mom. Miss 'em both.)

    RIP/RIG, you gorgeous woman, you!

  6. I should add, this was in the era when she was closing her show w/ (Kermit the Frog's) "It's Not Easy Being Green."
