"Wank?? St Agatha has just had her breasts hacked off, for Chr-st's sake!!"
In the painting in the previous post, her breasts are being torn off with iron pincers. Yes, I do think some people, maybe a lot of people, found that to be a turn on; just as much as a lot of people will pay $12 a head to see nubile teenagers torn apart in a slasher pic. Nothing sells movie tickets like sex and death together.
Unusual late medieval miniature of a priest of Cybele noticed a couple of days back when I was checking into Caravaggio's John the Baptist, of which there are two versions.
It's from the Delftboys gay art site, Göran. It's a detail from this miniature. I'd say that the Cybele description is correct. There's another, related miniature here.

"in the cave"??? Which gospel is that??
Which gospel is any of these pictures? Maybe the Gospel of Fred.
St. Agatha is my patron saint --actually, she is the patron saint of survivors of breast cancer....
Wank?? St Agatha has just had her breasts hacked off, for Chr-st's sake!! Stunning painting tho'. Caravaggio's Baptist is seriously naughty.

Good God, that Lefevre is gorgeous! :-D..
[Religious, not so much...]
Love the Priest of Cybele! Thanks Lapin. Caravaggio painted a lot of young Baptists in varying degrees of lasciviousness.
JCF,
I thought you might like it. I'm glad I found it.
Sure it's a Priest of Cybele Lapin, not Origenes?
