Epiphany, the REAL Christmas

Three Kings Day Parade in my neighborhood in Brooklyn:

While the secular winter holiday may be long over for us Anglo Europeans, Christmas reaches its climax in most of the rest of the world on Epiphany, especially in Latino New York. Most of the gift giving for children is done today with parades and carolers throughout the city.
I think this is very sensible and generous. It keeps the focus of the holiday on children and on the Christ child. The gift-giving retains its original religious meaning instead of being an economic indicator.

So, Happy Three Kings, Twelfth Night, Epiphany, whatever! It's the last day of Christmas, and should be the best.
