Who Gives and Who Takes

Here is a state by state breakdown of what states paid into and what they received from the Federal Government from 1981 to 2005. It was compiled by the Tax Foundation based on data from the Census Bureau.

It is interesting to see how Blue and Red states compare. A lot of those rugged individualists get a remarkable amount of federal money.
