The Smithsonian, under pressure from a Catholic conservative group and House Republicans, removed a short video by Wojnarowicz from an AIDS related exhibition.
I don't know if this is testimony to the enduring provocative power of his art, or to the very delicate sensibilities of the same old religious hypocrites who've been around since the days of Caiphas and the Sanhedrin. As far as I'm concerned, these boy-raping, poor-robbing, capitalists-on-their-knees whited sepulchers richly deserve it.
Here's a still photo Wojnarowicz made from the offending video.

As deliberately blasphemous imagery goes, it's small potatoes compared to what the Surrealists produced in the 1920s and 30s.
If the Catholic League wants something to really cry about, they should see Bunuel and Dali's 1930 Movie L'Age d'Or, a cinematic hate letter to the Catholic Church.
hmmmmm... funny, I guess, I've never really been offended by his work --left me in an uncomfortable space, but never offended... more like the Picasso saying you have pegged at the top of your blog --his work is a lie that tells the bold truth...
Hi Brad.
Hi, here too!
And I am one of the 90%. And I find his work interesting, now that I have the chance...
"His work is a yawn of pointless and irrelevant provocation by the over-paid aimed at those 90% of whom have never even seen one of his works"
... inspiration and encouragement for me to do another big painting project about David Wojnarowicz after more than 10 years.
Thanks Brad!
God, Art, Friendship: does Sad Brad believe in (relate to) ANYTHING? Pitiful, pitiful Brad...
