Better late than never...

Now we can spend the next 9 months speculating on how much worse his successor will be!

Indeed, my expectations for the succession are very low. The Guardian is already speculating that either ++Sentamu of York or +Chartres of London will be the next Canterbury.

We've come a long way from the days when ++Michael Ramsey was actually out ahead of the UK government on the legal emancipation of gays and lesbians.

Who is on the Crown Nominating Commission?

If they nominate +York, the CoE is officially dead. Over at Mimi's, Lapin said that +Chartres has never ordained a woman-wonder how that will fly?

In my dreams, they pick Jeffrey John. ;-)

(Giles Frazier would be great too...)
