Posts

On my iMac, all of my posts on this blog are clear and intact.  I've heard from some out there that this blog is cutting off in mid-sentence or appearing in fragments.

Anyone having trouble reading this blog?

The last line of the blog (1913 post):

The world of 1913 was filled with new and unprecedented experiences. People looked upon the world from vantage points no one had even imagined before, from speeding automobiles and soaring airplanes. "The world has changed less since the time of Jesus Christ than it has in the last thirty years," wrote Charles Peguy in 1913.

[From "The world has changed less..." is in larger font.]

HTH!

I should add, this is my view on a PC, in IE8 (Yes, I'm a Digital Dinosaur! Which rhymes w/ "Poor"!)

Doug, I scrolled through your previous post on art, and the format looked fine to me. I will return when I can give the post my full attention.

I don't have the problem that JCF noted, but all the side stuff along the right seems missing.

All this on a 4+ year old Gateway desk-top with similarly un-updated Windows, Internet Explorer, etc.

(Still enjoy the content, by the way.)

I can't access your blog prior to the Jan 1 post.

I'm puzzled as to what to do about this. Everything is coming through fine on my iMac with both Firefox and Safari (haven't tried it on Microsoft Explorer yet).

I have never had a problem viewing this blog at work in the past but yesterday I noticed the same problem as Malcolm. Nothing prior to January 1 and it appears truncated. Nothing in the sidebar either. Given how much pleasure and knowledge I gain here, this is a disappointment. At work I am on a PC with IE8. I will try to check on my MacPro at home where I suspect it will not be a problem. I just launched Firefox here at work and the blog came through fine. So it appears to be an Explorer issue.

I use Firefox, so Paul may be right that the issue is wiht IE.

Looks fine (Chrome browser, MacAir 10.6.8).

Microsoft Exploder has been notorious for non-standard rendering of HTML, so I wonder if something has changed in the stylesheets and as it propagates through the caches, it changes the appearance.

Everything looks fine to me in Firefox (17.01) in Windows XP SP3.

In Internet Explorer 8 your home page is corrupted as others have noted (truncated part way through Jan. 1, and no side bar content). But older pages ("Older Posts") are OK even in IE 8. In case you're wondering how I go to the older posts in IE...I have the "IE View" add-on in Firefox. That way I could open an older page in Firefox and then switch to IE from that page.

I notice now that Mark Harris's blog is also messed up in IE, but OK in Firefox.
