Yeah! Wish we were all there today--in N.O., that is.

Grandmere's probably out there on Bourbon Street in Nawlins drinking beer, throwing beads, and whoopin' it up.

Counterlight, we had our Mardi Gras on Sunday and stayed quietly at home on the big day. We have no parade here in Thibodaux. The only way I would go to New Orleans to see the parades is as we went the year before Katrina, when we stayed in a hotel on the parade route. We parked our car and didn't leave the premises, except on foot for the time we were there. It was lovely, and I'd like to do it again.

Dem Dukes are good, ain't they? Thanks. I enjoyed listening. Many years ago, I heard them at the Famous Door on Bourbon St. Believe it or not, there was a strip show as lagniappe, with the girls stripping down to what you'd see on any beach today. Well, maybe not. They wore pasties with fringe to cover their nipples, which you would not see on a beach. This would have been in the 1950s. The music was great, but as I remember, it was a daring adventure because of the girls.
