A truly great one, in many more than one way. Rest in peace, rise in glory. And more importantly, thanks for all you did, Paul. Well done, good and faithful servant.
A former colleague of mine had a child with leukemia, and got to know Newman through the Hole in the Wall Camps he founded. She couldn't say enough good things about him, or how accessible he was.
Paul was raised by a Jewish father and a Catholic mother in Cleveland, OH. I don't know if he was ever bar mitzvahed or confirmed. I do recall seeing a quote where he said something to the effect that he chose to be Jewish because it was more challenging.
What a beautiful, beautiful man in so many ways. RIP and love to Joanne.

Every leftist blogger on the internet has posted on Paul's death. Your post is my favourite.
Thanks MP. That's high praise.
Counterlight, believe it or not, I almost chose that picture, but I would not have had your brilliant caption. You did good.
Always with the I thought of that already!
I'm probably the only one here capable of noticing the Star of David on THAT CHEST (that answers the religion question, as far I know).
If I could, "Saying Kiddush" for Dear Paul...
