We Just Might Get A Good Health Insurance Reform Bill After All

Well what do you know, the dreaded Public Option is back all of a sudden.

The President himself says so. Note the crowd reaction when he describes the proposed public option.

It's the most forceful speech I've seen him make about health insurance reform, and it's pretty forceful.

Lapinbizarre said...: Public Opinion has bugger-all to do with it. All said and done, it comes down to two or three, bought and paid for, cash-wallowing, DINO senators. The Public Option is going to go down the garbage chute on the votes of even fewer people than the five who elected Bush in 2000. A few years back, when the Republicans held the whip hand in the Senate, we heard a lot about the "Nuclear Option" - abolishing the filibuster, an action that could be taken by majority vote. How come - apart from the fact that the Democrats, as ever, have no f-cking balls - we haven't heard a peep out of them about this approach to passing the Public Option?; September 14, 2009 at 6:43 AM
