On the Recent News Out of Rome and Westminster

The Pope's announcement that he would make a place for conservative Anglo-Catholic clergy in the Roman Catholic Church stopped the presses around the world yesterday. It was headline news in the NY Times.

I am absolutely underwhelmed at the news that La Tedescha Vecchia ("The Old German Lady" as the Italians call him) created a place for right wing Anglo Catholic clergy (terrified of contamination from anything female) in that vast club for confirmed bachelors known as the Roman Catholic clergy. To all those misogynist closet sisters I say, "Don't let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya!"

As to for the anticipated complaints "How dare you diss the Holy Father and righteous traditionalist Christians!" I say, "Tell it to the Ugandan Parliament!" (see previous post).

La Tedescha Vecchia cracks me up every time. I wonder if La Tedescha fully realizes how many more closeted gay priests she will be drawing in to the fold. And only the unmarried bishops will be eligible for the episcopacy. It is to laugh.

The RCC policy now is to screen out gay candidates for the priesthood. Will there be vetting for gayness of the masses of Anglicans who will be breaking down Rome's door to get in?
