The Olympics in London

Michael and I were thinking about going ...

Eddy and Pats really did carry the Olympic torch through London.

Fabulous darling.

Thanks to JoeMyGod and the Advocate.

Michael and I on the Queen Mary on our way to London in 2008 back in our salad days.

What a handsome young man!  Who's that rumpled middle aged gent with him?

The Queen Mary on the way to London?

[I visited, permanently anchored in Long Beach, CA, back in MY salad days!]

What Mimi Said (though w/ less lust ;-/).

The Queen Mary 2.

I should have been more specific.

Counterlight, I knew QM2 was what you meant.

So, JCF, you think I'm lusty, then? Well, you're mistaken. The two handsome lads are taken, so I'd never.

Oh, I forgot about QM II!

"You" (your superego) "would never", Mimi. But your id? ;-)

I suspected you meant the QM2, Doug. I guess my jealousy/ignorance just didn't want to go there [You two sailed on the QM2??? Say-Wha-Huh??? Dish!]

That was back when Michael was making a lot more money than now. That trip on the QM2 was our last extravagance. Michael worked a high paying job in those days for a big Upper East Side salon that was killing him with stress. The office intrigues finally caught up with him while we were gone. His employer of 10 years fired him when we returned. The woman who engineered his downfall turned out to be having an affair with the boss' husband. She recently lost a second job for scheming and incompetence. She probably won't work in the industry again. The salon Michael worked for then is now gone, and his old boss is now an employee herself. The hair and cosmetology biz is full of intrigue and so melodramatic.

I should point out that Michael is still one of the best hair colorists on Manhattan and still has clients who fly in from Texas and the Midwest for his work. He works harder now for less money, but also with less intrigue and drama.
