I Really Like This Guy

The new budget represents a sharp departure from the policies, not only of the past 8 years, but of the past 30 years. It tackles the issues of income inequality and middle class decline directly rather than trimming around the edges with tax policy. The thing is not perfect (health care policy is still short of universal, though headed in that direction; there is a lot to criticize in the administration's timid handling of the banking crisis; while the Iraq war may be winding down, there remains the risk that Afghanistan will replace it as the costly military quagmire du jour), but it is that fundamental break with Chicago School capitalist ideology that I've longed for ever since January 20, 1981. We'll see how much of this budget and these policy changes survive the Congressional meat grinder. So far, I'm very happy with it.

I knew there was a reason why I voted for him.

It doesn't hurt that they are so beautiful persons!

I agree with Göran, the family looks so ALL American (thank God we can say that without having to cringe. It´s done).

My favorite part about getting to know President Barack Obama is that he is so emotionally HEALTHY...he´s a regular, yet not-so-everyday, SMART and THINKING guy...sure, they´ll be a few messes to clean up along HIS way (of doing things) but he´s already loaded piles of Bushes GARBAGE in a truck that is headed to be recycled into something useful for humanity!

I like Barack, he´s healthy!

Hear, hear!

[I find myself talking to myself about "My President", and my hand involuntarily covers my heart! ;-D]

Although I, too, wish we were getting out of Iraq quicker. And were getting out of Afghanistan, date certain? And Barack: there's no such thing as "Clean Coal"!

And of course, that family's going to look even MORE adorable, with a dog! :-D (Hope they can find that rescued Portuguese Water Dog they're looking for, soon!)

Maybe, but nothing beats a good mutt.

I second Leonardo's comments.
It's great to be able to watch and listen to the POTUS without cringing in embarrassment.

I third that sentiment. I'm already beginning to forget how I was poised to recoil in embarrassment every time Bush opened his mouth.

And they are a lovely looking family. The girls are adorable.

I like the policies, too. Obama is not afraid to look the folks who make over a quarter of a mill in the eye and say, "You're going to pay your fair share".
