Jake Moves On

Father Jake is shutting down his blog.

As Albrecht Durer once wrote to Erasmus, "Ride on thou Knight of Christ!"

Mimi said it: this is absolutely perfect. Thanks for capturing what many of us would like to say to Terry.

It means losing a public service. Who will keep us so well informed?

Alas, DP, it will not be me. I couldn't possibly step into even one of those formidable shoes of Fr Jake.
Maybe Mark Harris will take up the slack.

It's sad, isn't it?

I haven't got around to having anything to say, yet, but it's sad. Very sad.

I am very very very sad.

Words fail me.

I'd not yet been able to express myself, and I find that you have done it for me. Thanks.

Thanks be to God for calling Fr. Jake to The Episcopal Church and for the gift of his blog. I don't know where God is leading Fr. Jake next but I'm sure it will be exciting! I'll miss StopsTheWorld but I can't wait to see what's next.

I've been trying to get my head around this one too, but am still a bit stunned. His unwavering message contained and gave a lot of strength.

But I think Being Peace hit the nail on the head. Yes, Jake will be missed by many. However, he indeed is being led by God to somewhere exciting. And for that, we should not weep, but rejoice.

Great post, Counterlight, great quote!
