The Religious Pícaro said...: The Vand der Goes and others I've seen like it bother me - here's this little baby laying on the bare ground, while everyone poses round him. I suppose it illustrates the utter change in position from Lord of the Universe to helpless babe pretty neatly, but it makes me want to yell at the Holy Family - "PIck him up, already!"
