Rachel Maddow on Luggage Handling

Hat tip to Joe My God

UPDATE:

Another former hustler, now a blogger, identifies Rekers as a former client. I expect that there will be many more. I'm sure this little habit goes back many years.

This is why I'm all for outing closet sisters who actively hurt the community like Larry Craig and Ted Haggart. They do real harm and they need to be stopped. If it takes current and former rent-boys to hoist them up by their own jock-straps of unacknowledged desire, then so be it.

FURTHER UPDATE:

Dan Savage reports that Rekers made the now famous rent-boy "Lucien" sign a confidentiality agreement and is threatening to sue him and anyone else to protect his "good name" (too late for that). One activist is starting a campaign to get a lawyer for the apparently very distraught and frightened "Lucien."

Rekers is such a bastard.

I thought Maddow had the best take on Rekers this week (sort of a summation). I felt like she responded not only to the story itself, but also to Jon Stewart (who, somewhat strangely, seemed to make more of the fact that others were requesting his take on the story, than on Rekers).

Maddow explained WHY this story is news.

[Kind of weird, IMO, to hear the blogger "Chazonator" do such a defense of Ted Haggard. Haggard WAS an anti-gay activist, and head of an anti-gay Christian organization, in the NAE. Regardless of what his orientation really is, he was NOT some "secret ally" of ours! >:-/]

Well, we can all agree on him being a shame for humanity!

Interesting post by this former hustler...

I certainly wouldn't defend Ted Haggart. I agree more with Dan Savage defending the hustler who outed him.

I also thought Rachel's was the best commentary on the whole affair, which is why I posted it.
